I wanted to write a letter to thank you for all of your help in selling my condo in Santa Monica in the summer of 2009. Although I am 3,000 miles away in Georgia and we have never met in person, I couldn’t have more trust in a real estate agent than I have in you. Having dealt with a number of real estate agents both in Los Angeles and in Georgia, three things stick out in my mind that make you far and away the best agent I have ever met: your responsiveness, your resources , and your integrity. The combination of these three elements is fabulous. Throughout the process, you were always quick to answer any questions or concerns I had, and without fail, you let me know what was happening at every juncture in the process. While this seems like basic blocking and tackling, I have found it to be very rare. For someone who likes feedback and knowing what’s going on, your efforts were very much appreciated. Another great advantage you bring to the table is your resources, both from a technology and a repair/construction standpoint. Your voicemail to email system, your electronic document signing process, and your email availability made the process much, much easier. No stress about trying to find a fax machine… Also, your resources to get repairs done and improvement completed at reasonable prices is amazing and invaluable to a seller. However, the most impressive part of the package is your integrity. Real estate agents don’t have a reputation for putting their clients ‘ interests first, but you are an exception to that rule. Ms. Graham, I wanted to take a few minutes to drop you a note and compliment you on one of your agents, Simon Salloom. I hired Simon to represent me in the sale of my condo in Santa Monica in 2009 and he was nothing short of perfect. I wrote the attached letter in early September and sent it to Simon. After the close of the sale, the new owner found mold in the condo and claimed that I had hidden it from them. I believe you were even dragged into the mess by the new owner’s husband, who threatened to sue your agency as well, all over a nominal amount of money. We ended up in small claims court earlier this week, and as I am sure Simon can attest to, we were all vindicated as the judge essentially called her claims bogus and came very close to awarding me my countersuit damages for the inconvenience of having to travel out to Santa Monica to defend myself. Throughout this whole ordeal, Simon was by my side, even though the sale was done and he didn’t have any obligation to help. He took valuable time away from his busy schedule to be at my side in court. I can’t express enough gratitude for his efforts. Anecdotally, the president of the HOA in my old complex took an immediate dislike to Simon for no reason when I hired him, but in the subsequent months, as she saw his work ethic, his demeanor and his results, she has become one of his biggest fans. I think that might sum up the power of Simon.Anyway, I wanted to let you know Simon was a godsend and I have recommended him to everyone I know.
